Immediate Dentures

When many of your teeth are loose or painful, they may be beyond saving. This is usually caused by advanced periodontal disease or by decay. Because bone is lost, there is not enough support for the teeth and they have to be removed.

In this case, an immediate denture may be an option. This process will help you avoid the embarrassment of being without teeth.  To begin the process, the denturist takes impressions of your mouth. From these impressions, precise working models of your mouth are made and from these models the dentures are made.  The denturist will work with you to select the best color and shape for your new teeth to best match your natural smile.

During the healing period, instruction from the denturist must be followed carefully and exactly. Regular visits to your denturist to ensure proper healing is required.  Your denturist will advise you of the procedure that best meets your specific needs which may include temporary liners, tissue conditioner and relines.  This procedure may be repeated a number of times based on your personal rate of healing.

At the completion of the healing period, a permanent reline or a new denture may be constructed to ensure a comfortable and an exact fit.
